Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
Pawtrait from Photo runs petportraitfromphotos.com and is responsible for your data. The short version: we collect what we need to paint your pet and deliver what you buy, we don't sell it, and we delete it when you ask.
What we collect
- Your photos and portraits. The pet photo you upload (we remove location and camera data when we process it) and the portraits made from it.
- Your email, if you give it to us for free portraits, a receipt, a notification or a contact message, plus anything you write to us.
- Order details. For canvas orders, the shipping name and address you enter at checkout, and the pet name you chose for the packing note.
- Technical data. A cookie that keeps your session and portraits together, a hashed version of your IP address for fair-use limits, and basic usage events (for example, that a portrait was created). We don't send your email, photos or IP address to our analytics.
Why we use it
- To create your portraits and show them to you (performing our contract with you).
- To take payment, ship your canvas and send receipts and order updates (contract).
- To prevent abuse and keep the free preview available (our legitimate interest).
- To email you about your portraits or a launch you asked to hear about (your consent; unsubscribe anytime).
- To understand which pages and styles work, in aggregate (legitimate interest).
How long we keep it
We keep your photos and portraits while your account is in use so you can download them again, and delete them on request. Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. Fair-use data is kept for a short time only.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it or to delete it, including your photos and portraits. Email hello@petportraitfromphotos.com from the address you used with us. We answer within 30 days, usually much sooner.
UK and EU (UK GDPR / GDPR): you also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete and correct your personal information. We don't sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we won't treat you differently for using your rights.
Canada and Australia: we handle personal information in line with PIPEDA and the Australian Privacy Principles; contact us with any request or complaint.
International transfers and security
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. Data is sent over encrypted connections and access is limited to what each provider needs.
Children
Pawtrait is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
